Kids Dress Size Chart: How to Choose the Right Size

Our size chart covers sizes 2-3 years to 9-10 years. The quickest way to choose a size is to measure your child's height and compare it with the chart below. Height is a better guide than age, because children of the same age can be very different sizes.

Kids dress size chart

Size Height (inches) Bust (inches) Dress length (inches)
2-3 years 32 to 35 20 17
4 years 35 to 39 21 17.5
5 years 39 to 43 23 18
6 years 43 to 47 24 19
7 years 47 to 51 25 19.5
8 years 51 to 55 26 20.5
9-10 years 55 to 59 28 21.5

All measurements are in inches. The same chart is on our size chart page.

How to measure your child

  • Height: have your child stand against a wall without shoes. Mark the top of the head, then measure from the floor to the mark.
  • Bust: measure around the fullest part of the chest, just under the arms. Keep the tape level and snug, but not tight.

Write both numbers down and find the row where your child's height fits. Then check that the bust measurement is close to the number in that row.

If your child is between two sizes

Go by height first. If your child is between two sizes, choose the larger one so the dress has room to grow. A longer dress can be worn with leggings for a while.
